To register the launch of a ground-breaking new medication in the battle against breast cancer, several interviews were conducted with patients at different stages of their journey – from diagnosis to acceptance and beyond.

Our first challenge was to develop an algorithm using AI, capable of analysing the emotions expressed by these patients during interviews and translating them into data. This algorithm would provide us with valuable insights into the emotional experiences of patients throughout their cancer journey.

We collected emotional data, including facial expressions, tone of voice, and text analysis. Then, we developed an emotion recognition algorithm to accurately identify and categorize these emotions, often using machine learning techniques.

Once we successfully generated this emotional data, we faced an even more intriguing challenge – teaching a robot to create artwork based on this collected emotional information.

First, we converted the emotional data into a format that the robot could understand, such as numerical values or colour palettes. With this data in hand, we programmed the robot to control its painting tools based on the emotional input, allowing it to translate emotions into strokes and colours on the canvas.

To refine the painting process, we established a feedback loop, continuously comparing the robot’s output to the emotional data and making adjustments as needed. We also incorporated creative algorithms to introduce randomness or artistic variations into the robot’s work.

The culmination of our project yielded stunning artworks that were both visually captivating and emotionally profound. These paintings, created by the robot, reflected the genuine emotions of breast cancer patients throughout their journey, resulting in a remarkable fusion of technology and artistry.
